tl,dr: I’m turning 40 and I would love y’all to join me in supporting Chicago Friends School. There’s a $4,000 match that will make your support even more impactful.

========================================

I’m about to turn 40.
Generally a time to reflect on life, the things that matter.

I am Quaker
I went to Quaker School

There are a lot of things I learned in life. More and more, I find the things that are most important to me have their roots in my Quaker education.

Things like caring and empathy.
Things like problem solving - working towards better equitable solutions.
Fining validity in others, loving and valuing difference.
Striving to grow perspective.

This is why I send my kids to Chicago Friends School

Because the work that Chicago Friends School does matters.

I think of myself as an entrepreneur. I have started a few companies.
Startups are really really hard. It’s particularly hard without enough money.
It’s hard to get money - especially when there’s not a clear financial return.
Chicago Friends School is growing and in order to bring its mission of developing students that lead purposeful lives to more kids, it needs more money.

This is why I raise money for Chicago Friends School.

Because the work that Chicago Friends School does matters.

I wouldn’t have been able to be who I am without places like Chicago Friends School. My kids wouldn’t be who they are without CFS
A school that does more, that helps grow peacemakers, that teaches respect - and love, that strives to bring that to more people.

Because CFS’s mission is worth supporting, CFS is succeeding at that mission, but it needs our support to do more.

This is why I have been a proud Board member of Chicago Friends School for the past 3 years.
That’s why I am asking for your help.

Because the work that Chicago Friends School does matters.

I’m excited to share that I have secured a matching grant of up to $4,000 from a lovely anonymous donor, which means that your support can have twice the impact.

So please - if you want to help, if you see the value in teaching empathy, respect and caring; in growing peacemakers, problem solvers and caring leaders, if you want to help share that with more people - please donate. Whether it’s $40 or $400 or more (or lmk if you want to match the whole thing ;D), please join me in supporting this wonderful organization and the work that they do.
